Leadership in education is a role that demands balance, clarity, and resilience. It’s a profession filled with incredible rewards but also significant challenges. Why “Calm Leadership”?

Calm isn’t just a state of being; it’s a mindset. It’s about finding ways to approach complex challenges with purpose and clarity, even when the pressure is immense. As a headteacher, I’ve faced my share of storms: budget deficits, vexatious complaints, staffing dilemmas, and the relentless pressures of accountability frameworks. Through it all, I’ve learnt that maintaining a sense of calm isn’t just about self-preservation; it’s about creating an environment where staff, students, and the wider community can thrive.
